I have to say it...

I usually leave American Idol posts to my other half, but I can't stay silent tonight. The only remaining male contestant, Blake Lewis, sang You Should Be Dancing. As I listened, I heard him sing, "my baby takes me higher, my baby keeps me warm."

I beg your pardon? Those aren't the lyrics. I know that song. The lyrics are, "my woman takes me higher, my woman keeps me warm."

Did someone just subtly out himself on national television? If a woman sang it and changed the lyrics, that might make some sense (in a straight view of the world), but I can think of only one explanation for a guy changing "woman" to "baby," especially since some people were already speculating about his sexuality.

Now the question is whether his "best friend" Chris Richardson is more than a friend. Watching them hug as Chris was voted off last week, I thought I saw them get too close for friends, but then I shrugged that off. I always want hot boys to kiss, so maybe it was just my imagination. Now I'm thinking they may really be a couple. If so, how about a sex video, boys? Cute couple! ;)

Wouldn't it be great if they came out as a couple and started recording albums together? I'd buy their albums. In fact, I'd buy multiple copies, just to support the high-profile gay boys! (I'm getting ahead of myself, right?) :)

Anyhow, don't be subtle, Blake! When they vote you off (because you do know you're not going to win, right?), come out on national television! Say it! (And if Chris is ready to declare his love at the same time, that would be a home run!)

The happy couple??

Update: Well, he's not going to win (Melinda's clearly the best of the bunch--not that that always matters on this show), but Blake's going to be around for at least one more week. Interesting how this is playing out. I guess LaKisha's "I just don't feel like trying so hard anymore" attitude came across to too many people. Anyhow, Blake, we can wait for your coming out. ;)

Cincy: Well, he's not my favorite as a singer, but he seems like a nice guy (as opposed to some of the others who have been on that show). So I wish him well however it turns out.

He has the vibe alright. I had no idea about the lyrics but that makes sense.

ok excuse me, but this is really dumb. Ok first off, if you are getting the "gay" thing from that stupid photo shopped picture, you must have the education of a fourth grader. "Santa Claus is real, my mommy showed me all of the present he brought!"

and there is no way they are gay. THEIR FRIENDS! and they wont see eachother for a little bit they grew close. a hug is a hug not a kiss. and phil stacey publicly talked in a video saying that chris and blake had girls come over to the apartment all of the guys had to stay in. and blake talks several times about having GIRlfriends. but believe what you want to believe dont say i didnt warn you the one day someone tells you theres a trampoline at the bottom of a cliff and you jump off.

Hey, "alexis," I don't know who you are, given the brand-new dead-end profile, but feel free to stay away if a lighthearted post gets your pre-pubescent panties in a bunch.

First of all, I didn't say the well-known photo had anything to do with it. Second, you might learn English before lecturing anyone about anything--"THEIR FRIENDS"? Try "They're," not "THEIR." Ask someone literate to explain it to you.

Third, yes, you're certainly right. Blake and Chris saying--or anyone else saying--they like girls clinches it. They must be straight. (If that was too subtle for you, I was mocking you in this paragraph--I wouldn't want you to miss it and think I was giving you any credit.)

Finally, if you don't even know common sayings and accepted metaphors, don't make new ones up. It reveals your ignorance.

In other words, don't let the cyber-door hit you in the ass on your way out, pinhead.

Methinks Alexis has a bit of a crush and feels threatened by the mere suggestion that there might be some lightness in those particular loafers.

Either that, or she's really a christian-right republican and is simply offended on prinicple.

Either way, she pretty entertaining, don't you think?

Dan: In a way, she is. I suspect your crush theory is correct. In fact, it appears that alexis found this blog by entering "blake lewis without a shirt" into Google. Instead of getting the photo she was seeking, I rained on her parade. :)

Alexis, "darling," your attempt to insult the writer by telling him that he has the education of a fourth grader is so completely laughable it hurts. Your grammar, spelling and social skills clearly indict you as having the education of a fourth grader...or is that even above your level? And your extreme gullibility (I'm sure you'll need to look that up) in believing whatever show business people tell you makes me think that you were probably one of the first to sign Paris Hilton's petition to be released from her prison sentence. Hmmm?

I'd call you an idiot, but that would actually be a compliment to you. Get it?

I don't watch AI, so can't quite comment, but I think it's cool that if he were gay, that he would change the lyrics to make a statement.

Wait, i thought Blake has a girlfriend back home...

Jess said...

Wayne: So it has been claimed, and maybe he does. Of course, many have tried that story, only to come out later.

You want to talk about changed lyrics? Check out the original lyrics to the second song he sang versus the lyrics he actually sang ;-)
