Sunlight is nice

Not to be confused with Moonlight Feels Right.

As I left work this evening, a little before 6pm, I enjoyed the remaining light in the sky. Spring is near, the days have been growing longer since the winter solstice, and I am a happy man!

With the earlier start of Daylight Saving Time this year, we need only wait until this Sunday for sunsets that suddenly are a full hour later. That's a very good thing in my book!

Note that he said Daylight "Saving" Time, not "Savings" Time.

Practically nobody gets it right. And like my mom always says, "just because everyone else does it wrong doesn't mean it's right."

The forward movement of the clock for the period is saving the daylight for the evening hours. Actually, more like shifting, but whatever. The name is the name.

I thought the exact same thing tonight as I left work - finally, light lingering into the evening - spring is almost here.

I'm so with you on this - the hardest part of winter for me is the shortness of the days. It's black outside both when I get to the office in the morning, and when I leave in the evening. It's tough on morale. Add to that the near-record breaking 11 FEET of snow that has fallen on Montreal this year (and we have another storm coming this weekend), the longer days are a welcome sign of warmer, brighter days ahead.

Bokey: Thanks for noticing!

Dan: Jeebus! 11 feet! Wow!

Three cheers for DST! I've never understood why people claim that the clock changes mess with their sleep. Who cares, it's only a 1 hr change! Face it, erase it, get on with your lives. I love DST, I need lots of sunlight to thrive.
