A nice weekend

Yesterday, we hosted a party. About 15 people from my office came over, and Marc stuffed them with food and drinks, as well as a fabulous dessert. It was a lot of fun.

Today, we had a relatively quiet day, and then a law student I know came over so I could help him prepare for a mock trial he's doing. (I also cooked shrimp scampi for all of us, so he got dinner, too.) His being stunningly cute doesn't hurt at all! ;) What I really liked is that my other half being a guy doesn't bother him in the slightest.

In fact, as he left, he said he should have us over. Okay, he said he was going to get his mom to cook for us. Well, he's only 20-something and still lives in his mom's house, but he assured us she'd love to have us over. Anyhow, the point is that he has no problem inviting a gay couple over for dinner. Things like that give me hope for the future.

Many young folks have a totally new view about things like race, sexuality, etc. Refreshing.

It's true, statistics indicate that the younger a person is, the more likely he or she is going to support (or at least have no problem with) things like same-sex marriage, and gay rights in general. More than one person has suggested that homophobes will simply die off. I'm not holding my breath, but even the changes I've seen in the 23 years I've been out give me hope.

I can attest, for anyone who wonders, that Jess makes an excellent shrimp scampi.

My word verification is Imhuhnbb. I'm not sure what a huhnbb is, but the computer seems to think I am one. Okey-doke.

I likes me a hot 20 something lawyer. To bad he's straight.

(The acceptance factor is pretty cool, I have to admit.)

MY word verification is msjozqy. I don't know who that is exactly, but the computer seems to think I'm some sort of feminist transvestite stripper. Okey-doke.

That does sound promising and very cool.

Are you an attorney? Have you finished your CLE yet? ;D

CD: Yes, it's very refresing!

Patrick: I don't think all of the homophobes will die off. All of the racists haven't. Still, I think things are changing for the better. And thanks for the scampi compliment!

Jergen: Yes, they are more accepting, and we thank you for the doggie good wishes!

Dan: Can't say some small part of me wasn't hoping he'd thank us in some special way, "straight" or not. No such luck! :) And you made me chuckle with the word verification thing.

ATG: Yes, I'm an attorney, and I just renewed my license. I had all of my CLE credits and then some. So I can roll some over for next time.
