A short France post

Just a few shots this time, but we're looking for quality, not quantity! :)

A last few shots from our visit to Blois...

And then we went to visit Chambord. Chambord is impressive, both in its design and its size. First, a shot of the whole place...

If you click on this one, it's at pretty good size. I don't post the photos to the blog full-res, but this one is a pretty good size.

Then we'll zoom in some to give you a sense of the scale of the place (see the people?)...

Here's an even better view of the people standing out there...

Go back up and look at where this fits into the whole place to get a sense of the size!

As you can see, it's a just a little place. Seriously, it was just a "hunting lodge" for the king, as he already had other royal residences. It's good to be the king!

Thanks for posting more.

So...um...when are you closing on Chambord? Gotta make sure I'm all packed to move in! ;-)

We're still in negotiations, Lee. We'll let you know! ;)

That little baroque chapel (it would be a church elsewhere but at Blois I suspect it ranks as a chapel) is a really exquisite piece of work, beautifully proportioned.
