Bernice loved both of us. I have no doubt about that. She was a big bundle of love and dedication wrapped in fur.
Still, from day one, she took to Marc with a love and commitment beyond measure. She took one look at Marc and decided he was IT. This photo, from shortly after we adopted her (look how skinny she was!) really tells the story--click on it to get a better view. They were head-over-heels in love, and that never changed. So wonderful!

It's funny, but Charlie's always been the one who says; "No more dogs. No more pets." No more." But when they come in the door, he melts, they melt, and soon, it's like there was only ever Charlie. Shanny and Ellie loved ABC and me, but they were and are Daddy's girls. This picture of Marc and Bernice warms my heart. So much love. So much love.
She really was so wonderful. She could give us a run for our money, but she always was so sweet and so well meaning. In her own way, she always tried to do the best for us... and yes, Marc was that special someone in her life!
You hit it on the head, too. So much love, right from day one. Completely nuts for each other!
